Winter Queen is a character from Word of Warcraft - Blizzard Entertainment. Here is the breakdown for my cinematic take on the character.

As my first step, I gathered references to help me lay down my base and define the look I want to accomplish. Here is some of the references I used. Gathering reference image is a step I always revisit during the entire creative process.

My second step was to create the character's full body block out. Even though my main focus was the character's face, I blocked out the full body to have a better sense of scale and proportions.

After establishing scale and proportions used Maya for retopology and Zbrush for sculpting. The skin texture was made using a blend of textureXYZ and hand paint in Mari. Below is the face wire frame, albedo and subsurface textures painted in Mari

For the clothes, I used Marvelous Designer.

For the fabric, I used a combination of Photoshop and Substance Painter to create tileable textures.

Full body light turnaround
Used a total of 6 light passes for the final shot composition (1 top light, 1 key light, 1 dome light and 3 rim lights)
